From Our Town Supervisor:

Welcome to New Webster Residents

I would like to extend a warm welcome to the town of Webster!  Webster town government offers a wealth of services to our residents.

Webster Town Hall is located at 1000 Ridge Road. Our office hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and our main telephone number is 872-1000. We are closed weekends and holidays.

Regular Town Board meetings are held at 7:30 p.m., on the first and third Thursday of each month at the Town Hall. The Town Board welcomes your attendance or you can watch the meetings which are telecast live on local cable access Channel 12.

The elected Webster Town Board consists of five individuals:

Ronald W. Nesbitt, Supervisor
William H. Rampe, Deputy Supervisor/Council Member
William G. Abbott, Council Member
Ronald J. Nothnagle, Council Member
Mark Johns, Council Member

The town also has several citizens’ boards. They include the Planning Board, Zoning Board, Conservation Board, Cable Access Commission, Parks, Recreation, Open Space & Athletic Review Board, Library Board, and the Board of Assessment Review. Any resident interested in joining one of these boards is encouraged to send their resume to the Supervisor’s office.

Webster also provides excellent emergency services with our own Police Department, three volunteer Fire Departments, two Fire Districts, two Ambulance Corps and an Advance Life Support Unit. Dial 911 to obtain emergency service, to summon a police officer in a non-emergency situation, or have the dog control officer respond to a call.

The Town Clerk’s Office (872-1000), Assessor’s Office (872-7051), and the Department of Public Works (872-7025), are located at Town Hall. The Justice Court (872-7020) is located at the Van Ingen Court Building behind Town Hall. The Parks and Recreation Department, at 985 Ebner Drive (872-2911), has many activities for all ages at the Ridgecrest Community Center. Webster’s Highway Department (872-1443) is located at 1005 Picture Parkway, and the Wastewater Treatment Plant (265-0505) is at 226 Phillips Road. These departments are staffed with employees that can assist you. In the Town Hall lobby there is a brochure rack with a variety of information on numerous organizations and services here in Webster.

If you enjoy the outdoors Webster has seven major town parks, along with Webster Park on Lake Ontario, which is owned and operated by Monroe County. These parks offer a variety of recreational opportunities for everyone.

Nature enthusiasts will want to make a special trip to walk among a variety of beautifully landscaped trees and flowers at the Arboretum at Kent Park, 1700 Schlegel Road.

Since you have recently moved to Webster, we would like to provide you with some very valuable information that you will need.

• Our tax collecting office needs to know about new homeowners so that tax bills may be directed to the correct property owners at accurate addresses. Or, if a new homeowner wishes the bill forwarded to a bank (where taxes are paid in escrow along with a mortgage), then Tax Department personnel needs this information for their records. Please call 872-7064 for more information.

• Dog owners should notify New York State if they have moved by completing the back portion of their most current license and mailing it to the address on the form. This way, when the license is next due for renewal, the form will be sent to the dog owner’s new address. It is also helpful if the dog owner notifies the Town Clerk’s office from where they moved to inform them that they no longer are living in the town. Then, when the dog’s license is due for its annual renewal, the dog owner should re-license at the Webster Town Clerk’s office. For more information, call 872-1000 to be connected to an available clerk.

• If you have moved, even within the Town of Webster, you are required to re-register in order to vote. Forms are available at the Town Clerk’s office at Town Hall, or call the Monroe County Board of Elections at 753-1550.

To keep residents informed about their government, the town publishes a quarterly newsletter, “The Town Times”, which is mailed to all Webster residents. For more information regarding the Town of Webster, please check out our web site www.ci.webster.ny.us

I encourage you to call me at (585) 872-7068 during regular business hours; or email me at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it   with any questions or concerns you may have involving your town government.
